How to Boost Your Monday Motivation

3951269_mMondays are notoriously difficult. Everyone knows that, when it comes to getting into work mode, the start of the week is always the toughest time. The weekend has been and gone and it’s time to get back to work or, if you’re looking for a job, hunting for a new position. To help you keep your motivation levels up check out these few tips and start the week the right way!


Mondays are difficult enough but if you don’t prepare for them they can be even more difficult! Ensure that you have all your work equipment ready to go (this should hopefully allow for a few more minutes in bed) and set your work alarm to allow plenty of relaxation time before you have to start the working day. You should also spend the morning having some ‘me’ time. So whether that is eating breakfast and watching television or reading an extract of a book with a cup of tea, you should ensure you spend a little down time before heading into work mode. Doing all of this will help you to mentally prepare for the day and should help you with stress levels.


Although getting up extra early for work to go for a run or go to the gym may sound like a chore, it’s a great way to start your working week. Exercising early in the morning will help you to feel more energised and motivated at work. It’s also a great way to release ‘happy hormones’ so should leave you feeling positive.

Set Goals

If you wake up on a Monday and have no idea what your working day will involve, then it could leave you feeling unmotivated and disorganised. Ensure that you set yourself goals for the week and look at these first thing on a Monday morning. It could be simple goals like finishing a project or it could be something a bit more challenging like looking for a new job. Either way set goals and keep track of your progress to keep your motivation levels high.
