It has been reported that the divide between the income of rich and poor people is getting worse in some countries.
The OECD reported that the gap was growing in almost all of the world’s leading economies.
In the UK inequality of wages is growing again. In 2008 the 10% richest people in Britain earned an average of £55, 000 – over ten times higher than earners in the bottom 10% of the country.
Of the 22 countries researchers looked into, 17 had grown in inequality during the last 30 years.
