Jobseekers this Christmas can look forward to more job opportunities as over 30,000 temporary positions are set to be created by the Royal Mail and Amazon.
Online retailer Amazon has suggested it’s looking for 13,000 new staff members to help them through the busy retail period and Royal Mail is set to take on 19,000 new employees during the next few months. The staff demands are increasing in the lead up to Christmas as both companies are set to face their busiest time of year.
Amazon is recruiting for staff to help them in their warehouse locations across the country and are also recruiting for their customer service centre. Last year the internet giant saw around four million items ordered through its website so extra staff will be needed to keep up with customer demand this yuletide.
The jobs at Royal Mail are set to be available during the winter months, with the biggest staff intake expected to be in December. The temporary roles will be in support of the company’s Christmas mailing service.
