The summer is well and truly here, with some parts of the UK reaching very high temperatures during the weekend.
For candidates searching for jobs at this time of year, it can be very tempting to apply for an outdoors job so we have compiled a list below of some summer jobs that can earn you cash working outside!
Lifeguards are constantly outside, protecting Britain’s beaches and ensuring the safety of the public during the warmer months. Responsibilities can differ depending on the grade of Lifeguard but general duties include patrolling beaches, compiling reports of local incidents, responding to emergency incidents either on land or out to sea and speaking to members of the public about local issues.
Qualifications required: Usually for this position a beach lifeguard qualification is required and due to the need to use beach patrol vehicles candidates usually require a full driving licence too.
Working as a Zoo Keeper means you can work outside with animals. Most zoos and wildlife parks across the country require Zoo Keepers to look after animals and the job includes feeding animals and clearing out animal enclosures. Other tasks include speaking to members of the public and educating them on the animals either via talks or demonstrations.
Qualifications required: Usually an advanced national certificate in the management of zoo animals is required although it can depend on the institution you are applying to.
Working for a removals firm can get you out of the office and out in the sunshine! You’ll usually be travelling across the country in a removals van and will be responsible for handling all kinds of furniture and transporting goods from one location to another.
Qualifications required: Previous experience is advantageous.
If you want to work outside during the summer then becoming a Windsurfing Instructor could be for you. Windsurfing Instructors train other members of the public to windsurf and duties include health and safety training, training on how to use equipment and entertaining groups.
Qualifications required: To become an Instructor you need to complete a short Instructor course.
