New Unfair Dismissal Plans?

dismissalIt looks like the rules of unfair dismissal could change in small companies across the UK.

Ministers have been discussing whether companies with 10 or less staff can fire an employee and pay compensation without the risk of a tribunal.

Apparently the talks are in a bid to lessen the amount of tribunal cases and encourage companies to expand.

It’s also been reported that in April employees will need to have worked for an employer for two years before being able to claim for unfair dismissal – which is a year longer than it is at the moment.
