Almost 500 jobs could be at risk at milk supplier firm Dairy Crest.
The company, which supplies milk to retailers and consumers, will be closing a few of their sites.
The proposed staff cuts are thought to be due to struggling business – with less consumers buying bottled milk and instead picking up plastic versions on shop shelves.
The company plans to cut costs by reducing staff. One of the company’s biggest contracts with supermarket chain Tesco is unlikely to be renewed although it’s thought this has not been a contributing factor to the site closures.
