Research in Motion (RIM), the company responsible for the Blackberry brand, has announced they have made financial losses which could lead to job cuts.
Competition from other Smartphone brands like the Apple iPhone has led to the company struggling financially and their popularity is dwindling. Blackberry Smartphone sales were at a low last year in America – with the company occupying just 10% of the market.
Representatives of the organisation have not confirmed job losses, but have indicated they need to make a saving of over £600m this year.
At present the company employs over 16,000 people.
