A report has detailed how 46,000 jobseekers have applied for 200 new roles available at high street retail giant Marks and Spencer.
The report, on the Daily Mail website, shows that an average of 230 applications were received for every role available. The retail firm is planning to set up in-store banking branches across the country by the end of the year and will be creating new employment opportunities.
The figures show how competitive the job market is today. The M&S brand advertised a similar amount of roles a few years ago and received a third less applications than it did this year.
