If you are just about to attend a job interview, there are a few things you’ll need to take with you!
The interviewer would already have seen your CV but it’s a good idea to take along copies as it will demonstrate you are prepared. You may also be in an interview with someone who hasn’t seen your CV, so having extra copies to hand out to other members of staff can be beneficial.
Your cover letter will show the employer why you want to work for the company and why you are the right person for the role so you should take it to the interview to refer to if you need it!
If you have a career portfolio to showcase your work, ensure you take this along to the interview. It may not be necessary but it’s a good idea to have copies of work projects and facts and figures from your previous positions. This will help you to support any claims about your work and will also help to support your CV and application.
Don’t forget to plan a good outfit for the interview and ensure you research the company dress code.
Taking a notepad to your job interview will help you to make notes on the company and the job role and will allow you the opportunity to write down some interview questions. Before the interview you should spend time researching the company, the policies… and list down some questions to ask the interviewer. Asking questions will demonstrate that you have done your research on the company and that you are keen to fill the vacancy.
